Brewing news Kazakhstan & Russia: Baltika beer exports to Kazakhstan up 54% in Jan-Sept

Baltika Breweries exported more than 47 million liters of beer to Kazakhstan in January-September 2006, up 54% year-on-year, the company said in a press release, according to Interfax statement of November 28th.

Total Baltika sales in Kazakhstan increased 43% year-on-year to more than 42 million liters in the period.

Baltika is currently the leader in the import segment of the Kazakh beer market and accounts for about 20% of the country's entire beer market. The company plans to significantly increase exports toKazakhstan in 2007.

The release says Baltika exports its products to 38 countries. The company sold 149.2 million liters abroad in the first three quarters of 2006, up 27% from the same period of last year. Baltika accounts for more than 80% of all Russian beer exports.

Baltika is currently winding up the merger of the Yarpivo, Pikra and Vena breweries. Baltic Beverages Holding owns a more than 80% stake in Baltika.
